About Projects

At Adapted Sports India, our work is guided by six United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). We believe that research, education, and inclusive dialogue are essential to building equitable grassroots programs across India. Empowering communities with accurate, rights-based information enables culturally relevant solutions to local challenges. Through evidence-based initiatives, we work to dispel disability-related myths and foster greater understanding. Each conversation, each learning opportunity, brings us closer to meaningful change—one concept at a time.

Modaka

Modaka is a digital portrait initiative that celebrates the remarkable stories of educators and coaches who transform lives through inclusive education efforts inside classrooms and grounds alike.

Parisodhana

There is a paucity of evidence-based research about adapted sports from India. Dissemination of internationally published research in related topics is critically missing. We are disrupting this situation…

Vidya

We are creating education programs that are focused on empowering Indians with evidence-based information to take sports and physical education for persons with disabilities into every corner of the country….

Samvaad

Through Samvaad, we share monthly success stories of advocacy that drive the progress of India’s disability rights movement. Recognizing that equitable access to sports and physical activity cannot be realized without strong rights-based foundations, this section underscores the critical link between advocacy and inclusion. Samvaad also reflects Dr. Chennapragada’s commitment to advancing qualitative research in India, fostering dialogue that informs policy, practice, and systemic change.

Prerana

Prerana is envisioned as a platform to document and disseminate the experiences of persons with disabilities, parents, educators, and professionals engaged in the field of special education across India. This section highlights narratives that reflect the diverse practices, challenges, and successes encountered in supporting children with disabilities. By curating these accounts, we aim to create a knowledge repository that not only informs and inspires but also strengthens collective efforts toward building inclusive educational environments.

Tarangam

Tarangam captures lived experiences of para athletes through in-depth interviews, using phenomenology to explore meaning beyond performance. It highlights resilience, identity, and the personal narratives that shape their sporting journeys. The project gives voice to athletes’ perspectives, promoting inclusion and awareness in sports and society.
