While India celebrates its medal-winning champions, we strive to highlight a deeper truth—the pressing need to bridge gaps in accessibility, resources, and systemic support for individuals with disabilities. Our work challenges these barriers by democratizing access to knowledge, tools, and infrastructure that empower participation in sports and community life. True equity in our society can only be achieved when everyday Indian citizens without disabilities take the time to learn, understand, and engage with the complexities of disability.

We believe that for every Indian to access sports meaningfully, all systems enabling that access—from education and policy to transportation and technology—must operate seamlessly and equitably.

Together, let’s move beyond inspiration. Let’s build inclusion through action.

WHY ADAPTED SPORTS ?

“….adaptation is regarded as a process of change that enables people to meaningfully interact in the most normal and integrated environment…” (Source: AAASP)

When modifications are made to how sport is taught and played to improve an individual’s access to full participation, adapted sports happens. At an organic level, adapted sports also includes grassroots level sport competitions and regular programming.

Despite inaccessible environments, citizens with disabilities have been adapting themselves into their local communities. Beyond the ecosystems for Paralympic, Deaflympic and Special Olympic competition lies a world of sports and community-based play. A world in which full participation ensures socialization, access to friends and economic empowerment for people with disabilities.
